Founded in 1969 and currently managed by the second generation, SJ Thomas Company, Inc. is a family-owned Commercial & Industrial Construction Company located in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

Originating as a residential contractor in Drexel Hill, PA, Stephen J Thomas started the company performing small repairs, progressing to larger renovations and additions. By 1981, the SJ Thomas Company expanded its resources to include smaller commercial projects, including their first Federal Government contract with the Department of Defense Center in Philadelphia. By 1984, Mr Thomas incorporated his company, with a new focus on commercial contracting and earning one of the first Federal IDIQ contracts in Philadelphia.

Throughout the years and growth to what has now become SJ Thomas, Inc., the importance of providing exceptional service, quality work, and lasting relationships with partners and customers has never wavered. Our long-term and foundational relationships with our bonding company, accounting firm, lending institutions, and – most importantly – our customers, have been the cornerstone of our continued success.

As we approach 60 years in the construction business, we continue to provide that exceptional service and value on every project – both small and complex – for the Veterans Administration, US Army Corp of Engineers, National Park Service, Internal Revenue Service, the United States Postal Service, the Department of the Navy, State Institutions, Schools, Nursing Facilities and Industrial Complexes.
